Put away your memes, this is not a drill! Developer HoYoverse shared the animated teaser of the upcoming Genshin Impact expansion, Song of the Welkin Moon. Over the 5 minutes of the trailer, viewers can get the first look at some of the new characters coming in the 6.x cycle. There are also some familiar faces!
In addition to the previously revealed Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions and genius engineer Aino, the teaser showed such characters as Knights of Favonius’ Varka, human mini-Durin, Fatui Harbinger Sandrone, Alice and Nicole of the Hexenzirkel, as, of course, “Moon Maiden” Columbina.
Some names are completely new and someone we’ll have to meet yet once Nod-Krai releases: Jahoda, Nefer, Kyryll Chudomirovich Flins, to name a few.
“She scatters dewdrops upon every bloom, and tints the twilight with a sheen of silver. Thus do shadows howl across the gloomy woods, as flocks of deer and birds take fright and shiver. She hums one nameless tune, while walking through those solitary halls. So her homeland may not fall to desolation, so the tale may not be lost to oblivion.”
What do we know about Nod-Krai and Song of the Welkin Moon?
The Song of the Welkin moon tells the story of a trinity of moon goddesses, who once steered the primordial celestial sphere and wove love and passion into the very heart of the world. They have long since faded into the shadows of time. Yet, those who follow the tides still sing and pray, for a new moon is set to rise.
The people there continue to worship the Moon Goddess and are said to possess special powers, older than the Elements themselves. The new region will feature a number of factions, including the Fatui, and some completely new faces: Snowland Fae, Lightkeepers, The Wild Hunt, and Frostmoon Scions.
If you want to know more about a certain land, you have to ask the people who live there. Yet when faced with too many choices, and no way to decide… perhaps you need a witch’s keen eye to give you “guidance”. To this end, the witches of the Hexenzirkel have also made their way to Nod-Krai.
