Fallout: Bakersfield is a non-commercial fan work, a total conversation of 1993’s Doom (GZDoom WAD) into a first-person Fallout game. It possesses the same unique vibe of the original Fallout and Fallout 2, from the surroundings and NPC models, to user interface, icons, shrifts, and more.
If you’ve ever wanted to see what the original Fallout would have looked like as an FPS, give the trailer a watch! The video runs over 4 minutes, showing the protagonist preparing to face a group of ghouls. The trailer also shows footage of melee combat, some light exploration and event a short, but remarkably to the point, dialogue between the protag and a mutant.
The conversion is created by Alexander ‘Red888Guns’ Berezin and Denis Berezin. You can support them via Boosty, but the developers note that the financial support is not necessary and will not generally affect the development process.
