Right now, Patch 1.02.1 for Elden Ring Nightreign and the playerbase is already into dissecting the changes. Of course, with this kind of patch come bugs and fixes and improvements, but it comes with just the vaguest of patch notes—very FromSoft. Well, never did anyone hurt by wishing thanks for “all the support and passion.”
So what exactly is this patch? Let’s go. They’re pretty scanty with the official patch notes, and so the masses have gone into dissection mode. One gamer by the name of guacamole and meatballs (yes, really) pointed out that Storm Ruler had got a buff: “Can’t wait to try it out a month later when Maris comes back lmao,” referring to those still awaiting that DLC.
Others loathe to say they’re happy to have a patch at all, forever into updates, according to Stray Light, accompanied by a meme of a guy giving a nod of approval. But some still ain’t feeling it—Akulas777’s holding out for his Roundtable relics glitch fixes, spewing, “I’m tired of triple-checking.” So are we.
And then there’s the Revenant situation. Some say it’s a busted character; others say it’s trash. Dulix_Codex and AraujoGongas had their back-and-forth, with Gongas pretty much outright calling it trash.” “You obviously don’t know how to use Revenant!” Akulas777 responded. That classic “git gud” energy. Please don’t ever change, Elden Ring community.
Back to weird bugs: azu_weeb reported an issue that allowed nearby players to be revived super quickly mid-battle, like a permanent Sebastian’s Roar. Crazy stuff, and of course, the clip was shared. Meanwhile, Cranston said just fix IronEye, where bow attacks barely heal it, making its marking kinda useless. FromSoft, please.
And another forever pending hot topic request: “Widescreen support, please!!!” cried GoliathHydra. Yeah, we’re still waiting on that one too. Maybe the next patch?
So yeah, here is 1.02.1 doing… something. While there are tons of things unmentioned in the notes, players are putting them to the test. Buffs, bugs, and a gajillion opinions… just another day in the Lands Between. Now excuse me as I go see if Storm Ruler is worth using now or just dying to Wormface again. Elden Ring, baby.
(Also, shoutout to the guy who said “they always release on Thursday mate.” Good to know, Cellarspectre. Good to know.)
