The current month in Xbox Game Pass never failed to draw attention with its inclusion of Descenders Next onto the platform, which the global player base really cannot wait to rip-adrenaline down the slopes. In Game Preview, the game promises crazy downhill mountain biking with track procedural generation and adrenaline by the bucketful.
So, what’s the story with Descenders Next? Well, it is simply the heavily upgraded sequel to the original game, which was already loved by the players for the fast-paced, physics-based chaos. This one jams way further with tons of more tracks, better view but most importantly, new ways to mess around in the dirt. Yes, there really is no catch, because if you are subscribed to Game Pass, you really are good to go.
The reaction? Largely a buildup of hype with mixed feelings. Some players like TEH RED ZMAN simply said the first one “was fantastic,” while others like Soulbound TV are gearing up for an “inevitable fail compilation.” Because, let’s be honest here: Descenders is half-about the fun of watching your rider crash into a tree at 60 MPH.
However, this isn’t a crowd-pleaser. Only450 said it raw with “Meh only crap lately on xbox,” so… ouch. Then there’s Michael2g 🖌🎨 dropping demands for Halo Infinite, Rocket League, and Warzone 2.0 to hit Game Pass next. Dude, can we enjoy this one first, please?
Tempest525, meanwhile, nicely wrapped up with, “good month for extreme sports fans,” with the added mention of THPS 1 + 2 also being available on Game Pass lately. Xbox is really going out of its way to make sure their adrenaline junkies stay fed, and we ain’t mad.
Of course, there was that one guy with technical issues—shout-out to Maundrey, who’s already dealing with some weird problem to the end of descent. Classic.
Still in Game Preview, so it will still get updates and tweaks and, more than likely, a good number of faceplants set in store for you. High-speed chaos downhill biking might just become your latest Holy Grail. Excuse us, while some mountains get crashed down.
Speaking of wishlists, let’s put that Skate reboot on there, eh? Just putting it out there.
