Developer HoYoverse had been on hand during the latest Genshin Impact special program, dedicated to the upcoming Version 5.8: Sunspray Summer Resort. As the last hooray for the Natlan cycle, the update brings quite the heat: two new skins, new Archon Quest, new character, new zones, Summer event, and more! Let’s check it out.
Genshin Impact Version 5.8: Sunspray Summer Resort launches on July 30.
“Natlan’s a hot place all year round. If you put your mind to it, every day can be considered a summer vacation. So why not set aside your commissions, Paimon’s treats, stories of the ancient dragons’ civilization, visitors from Nod-Krai, as well as a letter from the Grand Master…and just enjoy the free food, lodgings, and attractions?”
As per tradition, the last patch of a cycle contains the lighthearted summer event, and Version 5.8 is no exception. With salt in the air and waves frothing on the breezy shores, the new permanent adventure map Easybreeze Holiday Resort awaits Travelers from all around Teyvat. Some familiar faces will show up for the celebration, including Natlan folk such as Mualani and Chasca, but not limited to the locals! Bennett and Venti will both join the festivities as well.
Take part in the flagship event to unlock Bennet’s Outfit “Adventures in Blazing Hue” as well as event-exclusive Claymore and weapon refinement materials. Of course, the mini-games also reward a lot of Primogems, Hero’s Wits, and more!
Yet, beneath the cheerful event, something more sinister stirs, urging players to unravel the secrets of Mare Jivari, where the ageless immortal monster Bakunawa awaits new challengers. It comes as no surprise that this behemoth is another creation of Rhinodottir aka Gold.
The Traveler’s journey will soon lead them to the new region, Nod-Krai, in the new version series “Song of the Welkin Moon”. In the prelude chapter available in V5.8, Travelers will meet the very first character from the new land: Ineffa, an all-purpose household robot. The new adventure will take the Traveler and Ineffa all over Teyvat in the search of her origins, which seems to be closely linked to the ancient dragon civilization, including the mighty dragonlord K’uhul Ajaw.
Genshin Impact Version 5.8 Banners Feature:
- Phase I: Ineffa (Electro Polearm) & Citlali (Cryo Catalyst);
- Phase II: Mualani (Hydro Calalyst) & Chasca (Anemo Bow).
Ineffa, a capable fighter when her combat module is activated, will join the playable roster as a 5-star Electro polearm user who introduces the all-new Lunar-Charged reaction. When she is in the team, any Electro-Charged reaction triggered by party members will instead become a Lunar-Charged reaction. Upon activation, a Thundercloud appears on the battlefield, continuously dealing Electro DMG to enemies simultaneously affected by both Electro and Hydro, even with the possibility of triggering CRIT Hits.
In combat, Ineffa can deploy a shield and summon the Multipurpose Smart Assistance Unit “Birgitta.” Birgitta can periodically dash toward enemies to deal AoE Electro DMG, and will launch an additional attack if a Thundercloud created by Lunar-Charged reactions is present nearby.

Nod-Krai Preview Teaser – “Through the Silent Frostbound Night”
The Song of the Welkin moon tells the story of a trinity of moon goddesses, who once steered the primordial celestial sphere and wove love and passion into the very heart of the world. They have long since faded into the shadows of time. Yet, those who follow the tides still sing and pray, for a new moon is set to rise.
The new region will feature a number of factions, including the Fatui, and some completely new faces: Snowland Fae, Lightkeepers, The Wild Hunt, Hexenzirkel, and Frostmoon Scions.
“Born of ages past, the “Frostmoon Scions” hail from a time when the moons still waxed and waned in Teyvat’s skies. But now, the lunar visage stands ever still, much like this silent, frostbound night.”
Features new character: Lauma, and the gorgeous, magical surroundings of Nod-Krai. If you pay close attention, you can spy Dendro Vision on the priestess’ hip.
